Book Launch party at Bob Steele Salon- Post Riverside

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Wow!  What an amazing evening at Bob Steele Salon in Post Riverside, 4300 Northside Parkway, Atlanta, Ga.  The evening began celebrating my new book, Living Within The Silver Lining ~finding your blessings inside the storm. Though the weather was dreary and rainy, the Bob  Steele Salon was bright and festive. The Salon is newly renovated with beautiful original paintings hanging throughout the space like a hip and trendy Manhattan gallery. The owner, Amanda Hair graces the beautiful mahogany hard wood floors as we set up yummy bites, a refreshing cranberry and pomegranate lemonade and for dessert my delicious organic cupcakes.  The books are placed on the table wrapped in  black organza bows.  The stage is set and we are ready to party and celebrate.

I was so encouraged by all the people who came out to toast to this new accomplishment in my life. Living Within The Silver Lining ~ finding your blessings inside the storm, is a book of inspiration.  Each chapter begins with a positive affirmation.  It was so amazing to see people take the book and move to a little corner and scan over it.

Speeches are not my thing but I am glad  I said something, because one of my guest who was pulled to the signing, by is wife, told me his was so impacted by my words. He told me that, “My words spoke volumes, especially in this day in age. ” This made me feel really good because I was wondering how would people take me pouring out so many vulnerable and intimate things from my life.  This book was very hard to write, especially talking about the year my mother, grandmother and brother died in a few months apart. My brother’s murder was the hardest one out of all the deaths, to me it was senseless, but even in all of that I learned  very valuable lessons, which I share in the book.

One of the best reviews I have gotten from this book is from my sister, who told me that she feels that this book has shown her that she need to re evaluate how she looks at life and herself.  I am grateful that sharing my life is impacting so many others. Well that is my blog for today. Next time I will be sharing a chapter from the book  and really going into more details about why I chose to write this particular lesson. Until than, may you find truth in all you seek and check out a copy for yourself.
